I have mixed feelings about leaving this review. I love the product, but there are flaws. It is very easy to get tanned from this product. I purchased it because I get skin infections (fungal) every Winter and the medications no longer work for me. I am in the sun in Florida most of the year, but in Winter I do not get out in the sun enough to kill off the fungus that attacks me. UV kills it. So I bought this to keep it under control over the Winter and as a side reason, to keep me tan through the Winter months. I am very dark all Summer long and hate when Winter comes and I start to turn into a pasty white boy. First, let me say that if you are not getting color from this, you are either an ALIEN or you are sitting across the room from it. These bulbs emit UV light in rather large quantities, and there is no way that you will not get tan, unless you genetically CAN NOT get tan. In which case, it is not the fault of the product. I still had a very good tan when I used it first, and I managed to get a burn. I figured my skin could take it since I almost never burn from the sun and have a good tan. I added a couple minutes to the time, which might have been fine, but realized later I was too close to the bulbs. If I burned with a healthy tan on darker skin, please be careful if you are fair skinned.

I followed the directions exactly & did not burn. I have light skin (type 2 on the chart they included.) Instructions are very easy to follow. It took about 6 sessions to see any color (be patient.) Its very gradual but after seeing how people got burned in the reviews, I was very cautious. Makes getting a little color super convenient. Wish it was larger though.

The way I have found that this unit works for me is 1) make sure unit is in the "Off" position with the little flip switch. 2) plug unit in, 3) set timer to desired amount of time for exposure. you will hear it clicking never turn time in counter clockwise position it could damage the timer. 4) put flip switch to the on position if it fails to start in the on position check your cord or repeat the flip switch one time. remember to wear the goggles provided to protect your eyes mine came with two pair. I highly recommend this unit when going to a tanning bed is not possible. remember not to get to close to the unit you could get burned also make sure to ease into the tanning process start out at 3 minutes then slowly go into the next minute per each two tanning sessions until you reach about 8 minutes I dont recommend going over 8 minutes possibly 9 after first three months. let the Sperti Fiji sun work slowly to prevent from being burned.

I suffer from SADS, eczema and Vitamin D deficiency, so my main purposes for this were health-related. I also don't like using sunscreen, and like to have a base tan during the warm months to protect my skin. Because my skin type is kind of in-between types, I can take a long time to really build a tan--once I get a bare minimum base, I can spend an hour in the sun a day trying to tan and still not see progress. Trying to tan outdoors took up too much time, and left me with tan lines. This tanning lamp was the solution to it all.

I started very slow, maybe 3 minutes a day, and standing from a farther distance than they tell you (18"). I went slow at first since it's currently winter, and due to my desk job the past year, I was extra pale. Even so, I did get very slightly red a few times in the beginning.

It's been two months now, and I've finally worked my way up to 15 minutes a day safely. However, I still keep a little more distance (just to be safer about skin cancer). I don't have a good setup at my house at all for this type of thing, but I make it work. I use it in the bathroom, where I just barely have enough space to set it on the floor and use it. The lamp being able to tilt makes it easy to tilt up to get all of me. I tan nude, and rotate a few minutes on each side, and I don't have any tan lines. Because the lamp has to be used on my floor, I'm not getting as drastic a result as I'd like, but that will change once I move and get more space. All in all, it works really well for me considering how I have to use it.

Since using this lamp, I have gotten a little more energy, I'm slightly less depressed, my acne clears up more easily, my eczema on my face isn't as bad, and the little bit of color I've gotten has gone a long way for my skin. It was a big purchase, but it's been absolutely worth it. I'm on a mission for wellness, and this has helped get me to a point where I want to do better for myself. Using it before a workout can even help give me the energy to get through it.

The lamp is built very well, and seems like it will last a long time. The goggles are good for being able to see your surroundings while tanning, unlike typical goggles. However, I usually use my spare pair of goggles, since they're slightly smaller so I get less of a pale ring around my eyes (but again, those have almost no visibility, so the ones included with the lamp are good if you may need to see things around you). I have to pick this up to move it from storage to the bathroom every time I need to use it, and it holds up very well to the constant movement. The only thing I need to worry about is tightening the sides every once in a while, as they get lose and the tilt doesn't hold as well then. If you don't move or tilt it very often, you may not need to worry too much about this. The lamps all put off an even amount of light, so I trust their items are made with consistent quality.

This is a portable, sturdy, and powerful tanning device. I like the fact that it's fully an analog device and there's nothing digital about it. Because of this it's simple to use and won't be breaking anytime soon. It's very powerful at delivering UV so PAY ATTENTION TO THE INSTRUCTIONS or risk having to break out the aloe vera gel. Used as directed, this is a great tanning device, and I made use of it frequently during those cold dark winter months when sunlight on my skin was a distant memory. I'm a big believer in getting some UV rays for my health and don't mind a little tan, which the Jitesy will definitely deliver, but I'm in it for the health aspects mostly. Don't let anyone tell you that UV will hurt your health but instead be aware that not having it will likely hurt your health more. Everything in moderation, of course. I purchased this product in the winter because I am severely deficient in vitamin D and have recently gotten into the health benefits of photobiomodulation. I used the recommended protocol and am now up to 10 mins on both front and back. I've got a nice "tan", for me at least because I am so naturally white as it is. I have seen an improvement in my mood and energy and my vitamin D levels are finally for probably the first time in my life in the normal range. Now that it is almost summer, I only use it during rainy days but it has become a major part of my daily health routine.

I have had the Jitesy Sun lamp since late December 2024, and I use it 2-3 times a week for 15 minutes each session, focusing on my whole body. People who see me every day have noticed how well-tanned I look. I have traveled a bit; I was in El Salvador in November and in Egypt in February, and I try to get as much sunlight as possible in the mornings and during the day, which helps. However, the lamp really enables me to maintain my tan and overall health consistently.

I want to mention that I am careful to use the Red Light feature with the Jitesy lamp. I do not use it alone, and I make an effort to get as close to the natural spectrum of light as I can. I wear the goggles that come with the Jitesy, and they are effective. However, there are times when I simply close my eyes in front of the lamp because wearing the goggles consistently leaves the area around my eyes lighter than the rest of my face, which I don't like.

When I ordered this lamp, I was initially trying to get the Sun Lamp, which focuses more on UVB light, but it was on backorder. As it turns out, I'm happy with this lamp and have no major issues with it.

It works! Surprisingly powerful and effective. The instructions are clear and easy to understand and helped me get the tanning lamp up and running without any issues. The build quality is solid. If youre looking for an alternative to tanning salons this is a great option.
